Lisa & Dave Jacobson along with their sons Branden & Trevor came to Gunnison and opened The Gunnisack in March of 2004 with the idea of creating a restaurant that would become a fixture for years to come. The concept was to provide a fresh, quality product and to be involved in the community in ways that would help to preserve the friendly small town charm that is Gunnison. The menu is designed to be unique and innovative with an emphasis on making as much as possible fresh and from scratch. It all starts with Angus Beef ground-in-house daily to create delicious burgers that are served on freshly baked sesame buns, soups, chilis, sauces and dressings that are all made from scratch right here in our kitchen. Each day our prep cooks start with a prep list of over seventy items including red skin garlic mashed potatoes, our own foccacia bread and cheddar onion biscuits and all of our desserts.
